PRG Drilling cum Milling Machines combine precision drilling and milling in a single machine. The range offers three models - PDM25 (25mm drilling, pillar type), PDM40H (40mm drilling, pillar type with 3-directional spindle), and FDM40H (40mm drilling, box base type with head movement, degree-adjustable table and integrated coolant). All models feature MT-4 spindle taper, 8-speed transmission, heavy-duty CI casting, SGI gears and ISI/IE2/CE certified motors. The PDM40H and FDM40H use an MT-4 spindle with E40 collet for superior tool holding during milling operations. The FDM40H box base model is designed for continuous milling with integrated coolant flow and a fixed rigid base for maximum stability. Suitable for tool rooms, job shops, die makers, prototype manufacturers, and general engineering workshops across India.

FAQs

PDM40H is a pillar-type model where the head is fixed and the job table adjusts for height. It is suitable when less coolant flow is needed and for general drilling and milling work. FDM40H is a box base model where the head moves and the table is fixed in the base. It has an integrated coolant system for continuous milling, a degree-adjustable table for angular work, and provides greater rigidity for heavy milling operations.

PDM25 is best suited for applications requiring frequent front-back and left-right job movement with lighter milling requirements. It is not recommended for continuous or heavy milling work. PDM40H and FDM40H are better choices for regular milling operations.

A 3-directional load spindle is engineered to handle axial, radial, and lateral forces simultaneously - all of which occur during milling. A standard drill spindle handles only axial (downward) load. The 3-directional spindle on PDM40H and FDM40H ensures the spindle stays accurate and the bearings last longer under continuous milling loads.

E40 is a precision collet system fitted in the MT-4 spindle taper on PDM40H and FDM40H. It provides more secure and accurate tool holding for end mills and milling cutters compared to a standard drill chuck, reducing tool runout and improving surface finish during milling operations.

Yes. DRO is available as an optional accessory for PRG Drilling cum Milling Machines. It provides precise X-Y-Z digital positioning, significantly improving repeatability and reducing setup time for precision work.

On PDM25 and PDM40H, the coolant system is optional and can be added as an accessory. On FDM40H, the coolant system is integrated as standard, making it the preferred choice for continuous milling operations where consistent coolant flow is critical.

These machines are rated for drilling in MS (mild steel) and CI (cast iron) as primary materials. The drilling capacity in CI is double that in MS - up to 50mm on PDM25 and 100mm on the 40mm models. They are suitable for general engineering materials including steel, aluminium, brass and cast iron.
