The range covers two models - PPT6 (6mm tapping capacity) and PPT12 (12mm tapping capacity). Both feature a compact pillar design with table up/down movement instead of spindle travel, 3-speed transmission, and forward-reverse switching for clean tap entry and extraction. Built on heavy-duty graded CI casting with ISI/IE2/CE certified motors. The dedicated tapping design allows higher cycle speeds compared to combined drill-tap machines, making them ideal for high-volume tapping on production lines. This dedicated design allows higher tapping speeds and faster production cycles compared to a combined drill-tap machine, making it the right choice when drilling is done separately or already complete.
The PPT series offers two models - PPT6 for up to M6 (6mm) tapping and PPT12 for up to M12 (12mm) tapping in MS.
Instead of the spindle moving down, the workpiece table moves up to meet the tap. This design is common on dedicated tapping machines as it allows quick repositioning between tapping cycles and keeps the spindle mechanism simpler and more rigid.
The PPT series has a minimal drilling capacity (2mm on PPT6, 6mm on PPT12) but these machines are not designed for regular drilling operations. They are optimised for tapping. For combined drilling and tapping, the PDT series is the right choice.
A dedicated tapping machine runs faster tapping cycles since the entire machine - spindle speed, table movement, motor sizing - is optimised only for tapping. In high-volume production where holes are pre-drilled, a pure tapping machine will outperform a combined machine in throughput and consistency.
